Hey everyone, I'm Matt and just purchased a 2007 stx navara and couldn't be happier. It will be used as my daily driver and so far so good. I'm looking forward to having a look around here and learn as much as i can.

My first question, my navara has a tonneau cover with the elastic straps and also no fog lights. Does this sound right as i thought the STX came with the clip on cover or hard cover and fog lights?

Thanks

Welcome to the Forum
Fog lights were fitted for not with. You will have the wiring but you will need the lights and the indicator stalk to get them working if you want to go the full factory route.
As to the tonneau same deal. The truck had the option of the cover so agin fitted for not with.Original factory tonneau's were the clip on type however after market covers were the elastic rope type

Thanks for the quick reply. I only ask because i rarely see other stx's on the road without fog lights and and most of them i see don't have the pull down rope style tonneau.

Welcome. It depends on the year with the fogs. and Soft cover because the rope one look silly on new utes. So people spend the extra coin to get nissan ones

The fog lights are an easy install as everything is there just needs to be hooked up so to speak. The lights just bolt right in to either the plastic or alloy bar.The wiring should just be up under the front end ready to connect. The indicator stalk is a simply job of 4 screws to open the steering column cover and from memory its just a clip that holds it in . Bolt the cover back on and your good to go

Fair enough. Buying second hand really limits what you get although i don't really mind the rope style on mine as its a dark colour so they font stand out like dogs balls

Thanks for the info sorry for being a bit of a PITA by the way. Is the new stalk a plug and play unit or will i need to splice into the wiring for the fog light switch?

Hey we all started somewhere and the whole idea of the forum is the sharing of the wealth of info amongst its members .
If you want to go the factory way its a straight plug and pray deal. Some go the route of aftermarket relays and wiring. But if you go the factory route you get the indicator light working in the instrument cluster.I know its more exxy just to get that little green light working when the fogs are on but its a much cleaner install .
