hello I looking into buying a Navara in witch the owner says it needs a new head gasket just wondering how common blowing a head gasket is and wheither its worth buying and fixing. engine is working.

need to find out why the head gasket blew. If it because it over heated, there's every chance you have a cracked head also!

petrol or diesel?
what model engine?
if diesel its not a head gasket its the head itself, which is an expensive job to fix.

if it was a cheap fix like a head gasket they would have done it and sold the ute for more.
