hoping someone can shed some light on my auto trany issue.
It seams to hit a little harder then normal from 1st-2nd and 2nd to 3rd when under load only.
I had the valve body replaced recently as it blew the internal management system in it. same problem was there before this was replaced but a lot harder before hand ( assumed cause of old oil )
am thinking clutches on these gears might be gone ?
appreciate any insight.

thanks Jeff

Usually you'd suspect what's been changed, but I'd hazard a guess that the problem is still there but reduced by replacing the valve body.

How's the torque converter - is it the original? TCs from 2006 to early 2009 were suspect, typically an issue with the locking mechanism, but that doesn't mean there can't be some other fault. How does the car perform under light acceleration between 70km/h and 100km/h - is it smooth all the way up, or is there a vibration that can be felt? This would indicate a problem with the lockup mechanism.

Otherwise, you'd have to wonder if any of the oil passageways in the gearbox were contaminated or even blocked.

It's original torque converter. No vibration at all at any speed just a hard change in gears down low. If I drive through the gears lightly all seams fine, its just when it's under a bit of load or harder acceleration...
