Hi everyone .New member we are new to 4x4 we have just bought a 05 D22 Navara and have been reading the forum for some time now, some good stuff for a newcomer .Like the fact that you get LOTS of differant opinions for most questions and then can weigh up the pros and cons.Is there anywhere on the site that some one has put together a fact sheet with all the what seems like standard questions asked by new owners like myself or are there just to many opinions to agree on .I might make a list of what I see as often asked questions and see what answers I get . But what I would like to know now is can anyone tell me what fixing I need to mount a hard lid as I have bought a second hand one in vic and we are going in Feb for a bit of a trip round the ocian rd and do some tracks in the grampions (need to find some ).So I would like to mount the lid when we pick it up. Sorry about the long post but will be very interested to hear from you.
Regards Crusty (Kevin in SA )

hi Crusty,
if you are looking for the hinge set up that holds the lid down behind the cab i have them as my canopy got torn of in strong winds.
I have the struts also, just have to find them.
Im in Melbourne,Rowville.

Hey Joe thanks mate but I think the one I have bought has got them ( I hope ) but Because I will not get to see them till I get there I was hoping someone could tell me what the fixings are so I can take some bolts and a drill ext. so I can fit it when I am in Vic
Regards Kev

if its got all the fittings attached to the lid you will only need about 10 self drilling screws to screw into the inside of the tub.
you will need some thin rubber strips to glue on the outside of the tub where the lid overlaps it as it vibrates and will rub the paint off the tub.
that should be it.
cheers,

Crusty,
i just checked the screws used to fix the hard lid and they are 6mm x 16mm sss round/pan head metalthreads with matching nuts.
so you will need to pre drill the tub to use them.
cheers,Joe
