Is it diesel or petrol? I am assuming petrol and that being the case I understand the 4.0L petrol does not like gas - but others will be far more informed. A builder mate of mine got his new D40 fitted with gas from new. Nothing but trouble with it so he flogged it off.

PS - welcome to the forum there is heaps of info on here!!

Frommemory it was something to do with the design of the heads and the primary cats. basically there was too much heat build up and the heads let go.
Now that was what I was told but someone else may have a better answer

if its the motor i think it is, the story goes something like....... they run internal EGR setup, downside of that is the Egt's are really high. problem with gas is there can be less cooling by the fuel, so egt's go way high, stuff the cat which causes temps to go up and blow the heads.

i would have thought that liquid injected LPG would get around that problem.

the other way is get one of the systems that runs gas and petrol at the same time. however at the end of the day is it really going to be that much cheaper ?
