My 06 Navara petrol has developed a problem with the fuel gauge. Gets down to between half and quarter on the gauge, then suddenly drops to completely empty which sets of the low fuel level light and alarm. I suspect it to be a fuel sender unit problem, but Nissan advised me today that it is not possible to replace the sender, and a complete fuel pump / sender unit must be purchased at a cost of more than $800. Of couse that is for the unit only, I still have to fit it ! Any one experienced this problem before ?
And is the complete pump / sender the only option ?
It just seems a bit excessive to me.
