Fuel gauge faulty when cold

Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. My D22s fuel gauge jumps up and down, light stays on on a cold morning. It has done this since new (2005) and I brought it up while under warranty but of course by the time I got it to dealership it had warmed up and started working.
It doesnt bother me overly but I have always wondered if I was alone with this problem?

Try cleaning the earth wire.

On the sender? Might have a look at it tomorrow, gonna be in the shed installing my light bar anyway.
