Followed some earlier threads on this, so armed with the part number, went to MacArthur Nissan today.
Here's the rub. Because they would have to order them in, I MUST BUY TEN of the bludgers! WTF?

Someone let an idiot loose in that dealership armed with the ability to speak.

The obvious question is why you'd need 10 fuel filter caps unless you were an eccentric collector hedging a bet that they'll rise in value in the next 40-50 years.

I'd ask someone else. Personally, I hang my cap over the latch while filling the tank, but the D22 might work a little differently.

Rang Nissan Australia and asked if it was company policy to force customers to buy ten of something. Tristan in Customer Care checked and confirmed that the dealer has to buy ten - stiff sh&t says I. What dealer risk is there in buying $14 worth of parts . His answer - find another dealer.

Certainly sours the experience from my perspective.

Hahah that's funny, (sorry I know it's not so funny from where you sit BJ). I agree with trying another dealer, even if CC is right and they have to order 10 it's not your problem what they do with the other 9.

I must remember that next time a customer asks me for a mouse or a keyboard. I buy them in packs of 10 so they must take all of them off my hands or it's no sale. Gee I wonder if the same idea could work for complete computer systems....anyone want 10 computers, I'll give you a volume discount price.

^ they'll want you to buy 10 cars next - what a bunch of (well, you can work it out)!

Went into Nissan Parramatta this arvo, and the parts manager just laughed.
He'll have one for me tomorrow because he is willing to get a pack from the warehouse and risk $13.50 worth of capital!
Bravo Parra Nissan!

Given the bloody things are not generic Nissan products even the idea that Nissan have to order 10 is laughable, but it's good to see you got the situation resolved.

I have a small funny story about a nissan dealer in Brizzy, Rang up asking a for a price on a radio aerial for a d22.... Then they asked for my VIN number, I say WTF do you need that for?? :rofl2::rofl2:
I know its sorta unrelated but just thought i'd share that.

Yeah, I've had that with my little zook as well.... must be the norm ??

or.... They have no idea what's on what vehicle these days due to the mix and match of parts and this is the only way they can be sure......

If they enter the VIN into FAST the system shows them the parts related to the VIN, it's a nufti proof system so there is less chance of the spare parts monkeys suggesting the wrong part because these "trained Nissan experts" were probably working at Toyota last week and are yet to realise D22's have been around since Noah floated the ark.

It's even funnier when you give them the part number and description and they still ask for the VIN to confirm you are right.
