Front Tow Bar

I am looking to make a front tow bar made from the recovery hook on the front of my D40. It will simply be a tube that the 2" tow bar tongue can slide in and be pinned til I move my van then take pin out and remove tongue. Has anyone done this? if so what effect has it had on the front suspension if any.

There was someone a while ago who mounted a winch to their front bar and to make it removable I think they used a towbar hitch. I could be wrong but I seem to remember the picture.

I will post some photos as soon as I am done, didn't even think about making a winch mounting for it.
