Hi guys. all the way from the kimberley. Anyone Know if my 2006 stx D40 marked as Di on the engine shroud is a common rail or not?
Cheers

Welcome to the forums!

I think they were the same engine from 05 onwards so I'd say yes but no doubt there is others who can prove me right or wrong

Welcome to the forum!

In 2006 the D22 had a 3.0L diesel and the D40 was a 2.5L turbo-charged common-rail diesel (which was introduced the year before as a new model). My manual (which covers the 2005 model, which may be different to the manual you have, Krafty) describes a "fuel rail" but gives no further hint - however, the entire notion of "Common Rail" simply means that all the injectors are fed by a single fuel rail that operates under high pressure. There is some reasonable information on this wiki page.

I got my information from a different wiki page that stated all D40 diesels from the 05 model were common rail not from the manual.

All D40's are common rail.

Even the petrols, but they have been for a long long time.

Dave.

See we just had to wait for a knowledgeable person to arrive.

Give the man a Chuppa Chup!
