Hi, the engine warning light has just come on, on my 2009 D40 2.5 diesel.
Could this mean there is water in the filter and if so how do you drain it?
Engine is running fine otherwise.

Cheers
Paul.

Paul,

Depends on what colour the light is. Check your manual. If it is red = water. If it is orange, leave it a while. Mine came on orange after I ran the battery down and 24 hours later it was gone.

Welcome to the forum.

There could be any number of reasons for it to come on, I won't even start listing them here because the manual's error code index is several pages long - double columns at that.

You need someone to check the code for you. There are a bunch of people around with devices that can do that - a bluetooth OBD (ELM327) adapter ($20) and a free Android app and you can do it too.

With the code handy we can start talking reasons for the light. Without the code, hey it could just be a warning that you are trying to land too steeply.
