Engine change

Hi there I have just changed my engine in my d40 with a reconditioned one and I put a new 3" exhaust on at the same time but now it seems to be in limp home mode it starts up fine but it won't go over 40km/h do I need to get an ecu remap

You'd have to determine if there are any codes in the ECU. Any mechanic ought to be able to read those in a few seconds. Anyone with a bluetooth OBD adapter and an Android app like Torque can get those codes too. It will tell you why it's limping.

Questions:

1) Did you keep the old engine?
2) Did you keep the old fuel pump/SCV?
3) Is yours an auto and if so, is the DPF intact?
