EGR Help

So my EGR pipe from the exhaust manifold has split where I assume it was welded, as you can see from the photos. Nissan sell the part for $130, But can I just do the EGR mod by putting a blocking plate at both the Exhaust manifold before the split pipe and also another one after the split at the intake manifold instead of replacing the piece of pipe?

yes block off both ends as you said plus you might need to block the 2 hoses that connect to this center pipe.

makes a good roar when it breaks doesn't it !
yeah just block both ends. i cut the pipe out and used the ends to hold the blanks in place.
you probably want to do the same as i think its illegal over there to remove the egr pipe.

Made a bit of a bang when it happened and thought I threw a bearing and had a bottom end knock with how loud it was, had me shitting myself for a little bit.
