My drive belt is squeeling like a pig. Gonna change it in the next few days, so I was wondering does it matter what supplier I get the belt from? Or is a genuine Nissan belt recommended.. 2009 AT ST-X 2.5

Dealer changed mine, but I had some squealing that I solved with a very precise application of some Silicone Lube. I sprayed both idlers and the sound went away.

One idler is on the right hand side of the motor between the crankshaft pulley and the power steering pump. It has a cap that keeps stuff off the bearing - you need to spray behind that cap.

The other idler is built the same, and is just beside the alternator. Don't try spritzing this one while the engine is running, the cooling fan is too close and doesn't care about removing chunks from your hand.

You might want to find out whats actually squealing. My belt was squealing big time but I had to make sure it wasnt belt idlers or bearings etc. I held a block of soap onto the ridged side of the belt and the squeal went so I knew it was a belt not a bearing .

I replaced the idler on the drivers side before we did our high country trip, it got to the point where wd40 only silenced it for a few days then it just came back again.
