Do D40 rear diffs fit D22s

I think that they would be different widths and the hangers would be different. The centre would fit if you pulled them out. Welcome to the forum

Nope. Completely different diffs.
The D40 rear diff is the M226, the D22 rear diff is the C200, C200K and the H233B.
The D40 rear diff is the M226, the D22 rear diff is the C200, C200K and the H233B.
