Dilemma on equips

hello ppl!!

im in a dilemma right now... i've been saving some $$ to equip my nav but i dont know what should i get first.

now is totally standard, excepting for alloy toyota 4runner rims(came with truck) and BFG AT 265/75R16 tyres.

my budget its about 3000 dollars... i know is not too much, but if i think i've been spending about same to get my nav in perfect condition(im the 2nd owner) did worth it.

what i already have on the nav is

Snorkel
Tyres+alloy rims
Basic recovery equipment+compressor
Turbo Timer
Xenon Headlight
Garmin 62ST GPS

i hope you can help me decided to spend this cash wisely, because here in chile the prices are a bit high and i dont have many places where look at, excepting for internet and US market.

Always start by protecting you investment, bullbar & snorkel.
2nd do any suspension mods you want so that
3rd you can buy the tyres to suit the lift, not try and figure out how high you have to go to suit the tyre you just had to have.
4th must have accessories and safe gear, depends on what you intend on using the Nav for. Winches, recovery gear, compressors, UHF (alway think a UHF as safety gear) This also can be a good time to revisit the 1st step for rock slides and steel rear bars.
5th fun to have accessories, GPS, stereos, DVDs, big ass lights, cargo baskets, awnings.

I think your basic setup isn't bad - it's similar to my own and only needs a good UHF radio.

Why not take it out and see how it behaves before throwing any money at it?

well the ute itself is a tank, just keep going and going without any problem. i did a mud route at 5000meters over sea level, fully loaded: we were 3 ppl inside, 4 ppl baggage, pickup full with wood for bornfire and the camping stuffs like drink, meat, tends and bags,etc. and did it amazingly!! even i recovered a defender(long one) and a daihatsu feroza.

the main problem i have now is when i turn to the max and have some up/down obstacles, the front tyres rub on fenders. im installin this weekend my 50mm bodylift(thks to zordo for helping me).

when i go offroading, the average route is not less than 1600Kms on 2 or 3 days, in the middle of the desert or "altiplano", the routes are overlanding(we do our own route using GPS and military maps) that is why the current setup is not enoungh but works.

BTW im using a handy while im lookin for the base UHF.

bash plates, a rear bar and some solid sliders + a lift, is good proteccion when you're offroading, a bullbar would be nice too, but they're illegal over here (some people install them anyways)..
at the end it depends on your needs

they are illegal when they have a loop or somethin else over the bumper... if its clena or flat, there is no problem

i was thinkin on get bsh plates but made with kevlar... i think they would cost the same as metal XD.(kevlar instead glass fiber)

are you sure about that? I was pretty sure you couldn't even touch the bumper.. if you're right i'm gonna start thinking about building myself a bull bar

the problem with the front bumper are the loops, becasue they wont pass the PRT checking, also u cant carry anythin that goes over the bumper like 5th wheel or those police protection, excepting if it comes from factory.

and like all in our country, you can "pay" to get passed the cheking

i have lot of friends here that have their 4x4 very modded and the front bumper pass the checkin when they take out the loops.
