hey guys,

sadly my car has to visit the doctor, with a suspected rooted injector pump.
we can’t get fuel to the injectors, though we can hand pump the fuel and it goes straight back to the return line, with the injector pump not bringing any to the injectors.
so sadly i'm off to a diesel shop on Monday :(

does any one know much about a joint in seven hills (Sydney) called total care 4wd.

I was going to approach west end to do my chip install because I hear they have the software to tweak the steinbauer module. How are they with performance upgrades? Will they go outside the square.

What is the going cost for a diesel injector pump, supply & installed.
Ppl know??

My nav is off to west end tomorrow

from what ive heard (never needed to have one rebuilt) 4k, but as i said that is just hearsay.

Any chance you could post what you think of their service. I hope you get your problems sorted without to much pain to the hip pocket.

Cheers.

Got my navara back couldn't be happier with westend diesel,

Car runs 10x better and is even more fuel efficient.

They replaced the pump, injectors, lines, rail, hoses. under insurance

How good is it that your insurance got the tab which by the sounds of it would not of been cheap, pump, injectors, ect

Glad its all worked out for you and you are happy with their work, as i said they have a great reputation with everyone i have known that uses them saying only good things.

Just out of curiosity do you feel like giving us the full run down on exactly what they did and what they ended up charging the insurance company?

No probs,

Water got in through my broken fuel breather, whilst I was in a puddle, I left the engine running trying to get my winch working and it wouldn't budge lol.

So long story short, water contaminated fuel and stuffed every fuel component.. Total cost was $7300

Good outcome.
Thats actually a great price, my cousin spent $6500 on just injectors and fuel rail on his Hilux, so to have all of that done for only $800 more is awesome i think.
Not that price was an issue for you but still good to know what sort of $$ they charged.

you wouldn't be-leave 3 days after getting my car back, the turbo blew.
my insurance company towed it back to westend, and its pending another claim of a total of $6000..........WOW.

do people know if turbos are covered? taking into fact the car down a deep water crossing.

if they knock the claim back, i'm thinking of just putting the $500 eBay special turbo on, i cant justify spending $4000 at nissan for one.

Hsvking. It might be worth having a chat to forefront industry and getting a high flowed unit for around the $800 mark. Unsure what model etc you have but check him out

Oh HECK!! there is a good chance it will be covered due to water being sucked up, if it went through the air filter it would of went through the turbo and could of caused corrosion on the bearings??:dontknow:

Given the amount of time it spent off-road the bearings could have corroded from ingesting fluid, but jeez, what a run of bad luck.

I'd imagine the turbo is also covered by insurance it's part of the car, it's not an aftermarket accessory and even if it was aftermarket it should be covered).

I wouldn't go back to Nissan though, for a turbocharger. Definitely look at Forefront.

Try forefront but i did contact them bout the same thing a week ago....he has one in the pipeline but not yet...but dont take this as gospel.
