Diesel filler cap position

Hey guys I recently installed a alloy tray on my 2011 d40 and can't figure out what to with the filler cap as there was no instructions with the tray. Any suggestions or info would be great

Hey buddy, put a tray on mine about 6 months ago. Re used the old filler and trimmed down the existing rubber hose so it would fit. I'm finding that it is always causing the trigger to click off when filling up. I'm going to move the filler up higher, prob round door handle height. If you zoom in on my pic you will see where mine is ATM.
