Dash lights not working after head unit change.

Hoping someone can help a bit with this..

I changed over my head unit yesterday thought everything was all good until it got dark and realised I had no dash lights. Pulled the dash apart again today and found I had forgot to tape up the orange light dimming wire from the original plug and it had shorted to the chassis. I replaced the tail lamp fuse which had blown, tail lamps work but still no dash lights. Checked all the bulbs, they are fine. All the warning lights work, just no gauge background lights.

What the shit is goin on??

Welcome to the forum.

Try attaching a wire from the chassis of the head unit to a good earth point (there are several behind the dash). The head unit and instrument cluster often share an earth - it's a common problem.
