D40 ST Diesel Fuel Consumption

Hi guys,

I am getting like 11L per 100Kms on the higway and around 14L/100kms on city driving, is this as expected ? I thought being diesel it would be more economical than what I currently get. Anything can be done to improve on this ?

Well it's more economical than those who quote 15+ and the one guy who quoted 34, but seriously economy depends on so many different factors and 11 really isn't that bad, especially from a 2-3 tonne wind break.

+1 - you've got a heavy vehicle that has a lot to offer in the Wind Resistance stakes, so higher speeds or stop-start are always going to increase fuel usage, sometimes dramatically.

Have a read of the D40 fuel economy thread. There are plenty of examples in that thread, actually 53 pages of examples.

i think i finally figured out how to get the best fuel figures........... get someone else to tow me around
then i should get it down to 0lt per 100km.
