D40 oil filler cap

Hi anyone got any ideas my filler cap wont come off turning anticlock wise as per manual. I have behicle service done 5000 k ago and now down half way on dipstick. I cant get cap off it turns about 2mm no more..

I have had to put a lever onto mine once after a mechanic overtightened it, but then I do that a lot these days thanks to the increasing effects of age.
