D22 3.0ltr engine light on

Hi navara 3.0 ltr d22 06 engine light came on but car seems to run same except harder to start cranks for more but if i excellerate it starts . I did a thing on it . Turn key on wait 3 sec pump pedal 5times release wait 7 sec hold flat for 10 sec and light goes out car starts ok as normal but after sitting over night start in morning and light comes on again ????

What is the correct way to clear the engine light Hu

pull up the codes first.
once you do that it will also clear them.
procedure is on here somewhere. pumping pedal etc does nothing as thats for different engine.
