Clutch worn out ?

guys, this is not navara related but my sons Ford Courier utes clutch is grabbing when the pedal is only a couple of inches out from the floor. does this sound like the clutch is just about gone or maybe the slave cylinder is not working to its ability ??? i ask this as i allways thought when a clutch is worn out the pedal grabs all the way up not down low. what do you,s think ??

engine and or gearbox mounts that model was well known for those issues.

Worn clutch plate presents first as slipping in a higher gear. As in when your in 4th or 5th plant your foot at low speed and engine revs higher without power getting to the ground.
