Cairns to Brisbane :(

Here is our rough itinerary for cape york this year mid July departure. Would love some peoples opinions/advice. Brisbane to cairns is more likely going to be done in 2 days rather than 3

I wouldn't bother with punsand bay, I would do loyalty beach instead.

From lions den you could comfortably get to archer river rather than coen.

Stop in at the croc tent, and get a map of five beaches track. Do this on its own day, along with bombers etc. . The five beaches track includes Somerset bay and history on that headland.

Thanks for that. Will look into it!

Agreed the croc tent is a must stop at. They were so helpful with advice and gave out free maps and explained times and difficulties. The five beaches is good for a look as said. Ps enjoy the pin stripes though.... ant another vote for loyalty beach. clean and friendly. there is a great campsite this side of cockatoo creek (crocks and barra) keep it in mind as bramwell to twin falls could be a big rushed day drive depending on track conditions...

So is bramwell to Eliot falls do-able or am I pushing it? Obviously dependent on track conditions.

Do-able, dependent on track. Going telegraph I take it?

We went dalhunty to Nolan's via the falls in one day. Dalhunty is 2hrs from bramwell, so easy done

Yeah going telegraph track.

How much extra fuel are people carrying when running stocko fuel tank? I was planning on only taking 1 extra jerry. But not sure about the stretch between bramwell and the jardine ferry, as we are going via Vrilya Point for 2 days.
