ive been told that because nissan have a small (PDF?) six stud nut thingy i cant have all my tyres / rims the same. It would mean a thinner axel on my up coming camper trailer,very confused

PCD, pitch circle diameter and yes the D40 is different, but you can easily buy new hubs for the trailer with the correct stud pattern, try your local trailer supplier.

If you want the trailer to have the same wheel track as your truck, (helpful when towing in sand) then you will need to change choose an axle length to suit. So buy the wheels first and take them to the trailer supplier and they will work out the axle legth for ya.
