I'm not sure what it's called, but it's that little extra time the throttle is held open after you remove your foot from the accelerator, you'll know what I'm talking about if you go and try to double clutch a shift, you can't because the throttle is still down.

Anyone know if it's possible to get rid of that delay??? It's an emmissions thing from memory.

check for any engine oil in the intake pipes. sometimes its caused by oil blown into the intake via the breather (or failing turbo) and can cause the engine to run on a bit.

I don't think it's a fault, I think it's more of an emmissions thing to help burn any unburnt fuel.

No, I'm talking about the throttle being held open for a short period after the accelerator is released.

That wind booster thing, opens your throttle faster for you.

well i haven't really seen other D40's comment about the problem. so i have doubts thats its a standard feature, which makes me think its a fault.

Yep, you'd only notice it if you double clutch the thing, you press the accelerator down mid change, it's already partly down, you let the clutch out and it gets thumped because the throttle is still being held open.

I'm no expert, but I think it's an emmissions control thing. I guess it's controlled by the ECU?????? I really have no idea.

Mine really pi$$es me off when in low range, especially if I change from 1st to 2nd going uphill.. It just doesn't respond quick enough.

I put 3" exhaust, chip and DPF and got rid of that shocking lag on take off - dangerous when jumping in a small gap in traffic !
