Been waiting for that information for a while, someone asked about it a few months ago and I couldn't find the article. Rules about warranties changed on Jan 1 and there is more protection for buyers. We were considering using these new law changes to claim warranty on the tractor after it's recent problems but in the end the effort out weighed the result.

^ Not the Kubota.

Dont compare it to the D22 anymore Krafty.

The D22 is more reliable.

Yes the Kubota it suffered from one driver who is so old he can't change and one driver who shouldn't be driving a D22 let along something more sophisticated like the tractor.

The thing was the Kubota bloke told us with the new rules we'd have a fair chance to put the entire claim through warranty and get it repaired as a "factory" issue. But in the end we decided it was more likely a piss poor operator issue than a factory issue as we paid the $6K. Who knows it might have been better for us to go the other way but had the claim not gone through in 18 months time when the tractor is due for renewal Kubota might not have been as friendly with us so while the law is there it's not practical for every case.

Teeth off one of the snail gears. It has since come to light that the expert who knows all about tractors and has been driving them since they had square wheels decided spraying on a 60 degree incline with 600 litres on the back was a good idea and when the tractor started to get out of control on the down hill he's tried to jam it into one of the snail gears to slow it down while it was moving.

It was only found because we had a problem with the water separator and had to call the mechanic in to fix it and the bit was in the right part of the sump when he drained the oil for the service we decided to let him do (let him get rid of 65 litres of oil we say). There is every chance it could have floated around forever in the thing and we'd only have found out if we ever tried to use the gear that was broken.

Either there parts are very dear or its a bitch of a job to fix.

6 grand is alot.
