Hi guys, i'm trying to help a mate with his 96' TD27 Navara D21 dual cab 4x4.
His gearbox is stuffed and he couldn't find another until i searched the newspaper for sale section and found a 97' TD27 Navara D22 2x4(rare apparently) wich has the same motor and same FS5W71C 5spd gearbox.
What i wanna know is can this gearbox fit if i remove the back tail of the one out of the D22 2x4 and attach the transfer case from the D21 4x4?
I don't mind sending it to a gearbox speacialist for the changeover if needed as this box out of the D22 was reconditioned just 3months ago then he had an accident(front end damage) and had it written off and he only wants $500 for the box wich is an absolute bargain as the one that is stuffed is gonna cost around $2000 to get fixed.
Cheers for any help!
P.S the full code on the compliance plate says FS5W71C CA48 for the 4x4 D21 and FS5W71C CA41 on the 2x4 D22, am i correct in assuming that it just means 4.1 and 4.8 diff ratios?
