Hi people. I have recently purchased a 2002 D22 Navara Duel Cab. Will be doing it up over the next few years to allow me to access more that Australia has to offer and will be looking for advice on what works and what doesn't. Hope there are people out there that may assist. Mine is the V6 petrol model. I have minimal mechanical knowledge but please don't hold that against me.
Looking forward to chatting with fellow Navaraites and receiving any ideas.
Cheers, Andy.

Welcome to the forum!

There are some places you might find difficult to go with a petrol machine, but the D22 is quite capable off-road. Give it a little lift, slightly bigger tyres, some recovery gear (winch bar, recovery points), some decent driving lights and maybe a long range tank and you're going to be fairly well set up.

Have a look through the garages to see what other people have done with theirs, too!

I'll second Scott's advice. While you might not dunk the engine underwater, the snorkel serves two other purposes - it draws air from outside the engine bay, so it's cooler - and it draws the air from higher up, so there are less large particles in it. Your filter will thank you.
