So I've done a fair share of research on 2inch lifts and over the time i'm still really confused as to whether a 2inch lift is 40 or 50mm. I've gone to ARB and they only did 40mm and then I got an eps lift which they claimed was 50mm? Went to a 4wd store and they said they're tough dog 2inch lift gives you 50mm and then I research the tough dog suspension kit online and the only one I can find is a 2inch lift that gives you 40mm. Also I went to a 4wd store and I said that I needed a lift bigger than 2inches and they reckoned they could provide me with a 2inch tough dog lift kit and bring it out to about 60mm? How is this possible?

(I own a 2013 Navara D40 ST)

Whats 10mm? How much lift you get will depend how stuffed your standard springs are. Some people get 80mm lift. Heavy duty sprjngs usually give a bit more lift because they have more leafs in the pack. If you go to a suspension specialist. They can add more leafs and set your leaf springs at any height you want

Mate pretty much all the standard lifts for navs that say 2inch are about 30-40mm. This is because of uca contact on coil bucket. You can go higher but will need after market Iva's with more clearance and adjustment for wheel alignment. You could add strut or coils spacers, coil spacer you will loose down travel as it opens the shock more and strut spacers aren't really recommended although a few guys run them I have a small one on my lift.
The other option is hight adjustable coilovers (monster rides, prg, the new iron man stuff).
I'm about to pull my suspension out replace with monster rides.
Then there is the 6inch diff drop kits.

Cheers guys, jased22 I was just wondering whether going with the heavy duty suspension would be worth it getting the extra height and clearance or if the ride will be too rough and is not worth it considering most of the cars life will be driven in the city? rastas dog I have been told that you can't use coil spacers in conjunction with a suspension lift as the coils will bang against the control arms? Or is this specifically the reason why you got a small coil spacer so that it doesn't hit the control arm? What size suspension lift and coil spacer did you use?

Only get heavy duty if you carry alot of weight. Or the ride will be harsh. Maybe give zordo a call mate from zordos 4x4 suspension. And have a chat about what lift kit would suit your needs

yeah thats true mate, if you go over 40-50mm you will contact from the upper control arm, thats why you'll need after market upper control arms. Its more a problem with strut spacers that go on top of the strut pushing every thing down rather than coil spacers which go between the coil and coil seat or under the coil seat opening the shock.
I have a small 6mm strut spacer (about 10mm lift) 50mm lift total and spc upper arms and there was a bit of contact at full droop so i had to grind a bit off the coil bucket.
if you go a coil spacer you shouldn't get any contact if you get a strut spacer you most likely will but with either one if you don't get uca's you most likely won't get you camber back in your wheel alignment.
Also if you go hd springs without at least a bull bar you'll get the hight but the ride will be shocking

What height do the guards sit at? I found one with 905 mm front and 955 mm rear from ground and reckons 2in lift

If you are after more than 2" then Performance Suspension on the Gold Coast (http://www.performancesuspension.com.au/) sell a 4" lift kit including adjustable XYZ racing coilovers (4" height, no spacers), adjustable UCA and all the other stuff.

Give em a call if you are serious about it. CV angles will be fine as well before you ask ;)
