285/75/16 muddies

G'day all anyone know if I can fit 285/75/16 mud tyres on standard d22 2003 rims onto a 2003 twin cab with 40-50mm lift with out to much trouble

I think you'll be pushing it to get a 285 on a 7 inch wide rim... the offset on the factory wheels will be your other problem. If you have a look in the d22 section, there is a thread about fitting 33 inch tyres in there...

try fitting 255/85R16 skinny but taller than what you are looking at, I run the on my D22 2003, absolutly love them, heaps more ground clearance

You defiantly need a 8 inch rim to fit 285's, some will fit it on 7.5inch but that's borderline.
