Hi All,
Recently picked up an 04 Navara and looking to upgrade the tyres before it’s first decent off road trip.
Being an 04, the standard tyre size is 265/70 R16. As I want something with a bit aggressive tread, I really only have a choice of 265/75 R16 or 245/75 R16.
Doesn’t have a lift kit at the moment and wont for some time.
Question is, do I bite the bullet and go the 265/75 and hope they fit or go back to the 245/75, which is almost the same outside diameter as the standard tyres?
What’s the pro’s and con’s of dropping back to a 245/75?

It will almost certainly come down to personal choice for size. The only real advantage in 265/75 is the range available (in LT) compared to 265/70 and 245/75.

The 267/75 will give a bit better ground clearance - but you'll pay more in fuel.

The 245/75 will look a little skinny - but I think they're ok

Ended up going with Cooper A/T 3’s in 265/70’s. Would have liked the ST Maxx, but the dealer advised against the bigger tyre due to rubbing on uneven terrain etc.
They’re about the most aggressive tyre I could find locally without going to 265/75. Cost $350 per corner, but with an 80,000km warranty I can’t really complain!
Will have to go into hiding when the missus see’s the bank statement though!!

265 are a little big I think. Mine scrub big time when flexing even with a 2inch lift and the power loss is crazy

My 265's are on 0 offset 16/8" rims and just nick the inner edge of the mud flap at full flex even with a 4" lift, would be shit house with out the body lift
