Good day Team,
Pls advise,
lately I've noticed that my vehicle has lost a lot of power even when on steep inclines, she really battles to take off have to really give it a good rev also she is over fueling as well. I've also started to see some excessive puffs of black smoke this happens consistently whilst driving. some say injectors or egr value or solenoid, any idea on how can I best work with a process of elimination to find the root cause and then fix accordingly?

It's also quite possible that it's a turbo or turbo control issue. The best way to check is to interrogate the ECU as to the boost pressure when you're applying constant power to the car (driving up an incline at a steady pace). Expect to see peak boost pressure of low 20s in psi.

You can interrogate the ECU either with a professional OBD diagnostics unit (not cheap) or with a cheap ELM327 bluetooth OBD adapter and an Android app like Torque.

If your boost pressure is down, check the vac hoses first. Cracking will allow them to lose vacuum. If they can turn easily on the tubes they're connected to, they've probably hardened and will also lose vacuum.

If the hoses are ok, it might be the Boost Control Solenoid (BCS) - a common failure point. I've stopped replacing them after BCS #3, I moved to a Tillix valve. To decide whether it's the BCS or a failing turbo, remove the black air hose from the baffle on the vehicle's left hand side and wipe your fingertip on the inside. It should come out black. Examine it under a light for metallic flecks - if you see any, your turbocharger is wearing out. Removing the intake off the turbocharger and moving the shaft should reveal some wobble in it. If the turbo's fine, it's probably the BCS.

If the boost pressure is ok, you might have an uncooperative EGR valve. Don't sweat this one, just block the thing off. Remove the two bolts on the EGR valve (12mm socket) and extract the gasket. Make a copy of this gasket but don't make the large hole. Reasssemble with sensor-safe gasket cement and if it was your EGR valve messing up, the problem will have gone away.
 
Does the acceleration surge at all or just sluggish? How does it idle ? Smooth or up and down? Check the easy things first. Could be a whole lot of different things. Suction control valve can be primary suspect but change the fuel filter, clean the MAF sensor and check vacuum hoses. (the less expensive things), if there all in order your going to have to look further but will be here to help out if we can. :)
