2003 D22 2.5 acceleration problem

Hi everyone,
My truck has decided to play-up almost immediately after filling up the tank with BP Ultimate. It had a 3rd of a tank in it up-to that point, and was running really nice.
When it gets to just under 2000 revs it starts 'holding back'; anything under that and its fine, including tick-over.

I recently had a 'Crank but don't start' issue with it that seemed to be fixed by getting an online company to replace a transistor in the fuel pump, and now its 'on the button'.
At the time I changed the fuel filter and the filter holder with the pump on top, so I don't think it can be that.
does anyone have any suggestions please?

i would still check the filter. open the drain and see if any water comes out. or any diesel bug.
also you can put a bit of clear fuel line on the filter outlet and check it has no bubbles of air in the fuel.

Thank you tweak'e, I like that, the clear fuel line is a great idea! it would take care of a lot of suppositions. I'll get on that.
