1997 D22 3.2D turboing?

How hard is it to fit a turbo to them 3.2D D22? I was thinking about doing it

If you have basic mecinacial skills then go for it.

Get a turbo/manafold/dump pipe from a Td27, usually found on a terrano.
The manafoild bolts directly to your QD

so you will need to :
Sort out oil feed and return - feed should be tap-able from oil filter housing or your oil pressure sensor, return will need to be custom.
Sort out water lines - tap into your heater lines, easy done.
adapt the dump pipe to your current exhaust, easy if you can weld
Sort out your intake pipe and pressure pipe - easy with some silicone joiners and spare pipe.

then you need to adjust your diesel fuel injection, as qd not factory turbo it does not have the boost compinsator.

or you could import a Qd32 factory turbo motor from Japan and swap it out.

As bvandermaat said above. Me and him have both done it and it worked out well. I'm still dicking around with the fuel pump but its definitely worth it. Make sure you do the exhaust and 80 series land cruiser mods. The overall change is quite large!

Edit: Also the Turbo oil return bolts directly to the block as seen in my thread so no need for a custom line
