1986 Nissan Navara Z24 wont engage 4wd

Hi all,

I have a D21 Navara with a Z24 in it,
My problem is that it wont engage 4wd at all i lock the hubs and the put it in neutral and put it in 4wd low still drives like normal and i can move the 4wd stick into 4wd hi or 2wd hi and there is nothing jamming it underneath,

can anyone help please.

well i found the fix the gear stick linkage wasnt hooked up
