03 d22 timing chain replacement?

Hey guys new to this site and stoked at the amount of info available here.

I recently bought an 03 d22 str navara 3lt TD with 200,000ks on the clock. The nav had been regularly serviced, my question being... At what stage does the timing chain need replacing?? I don't want the nav to blow up any time soon and help would be great!

When it comes to timing chains 'need' is rather an ephemeral thing - they're unlike timing belts inasmuch as they don't have set replacement periods. The ZD30 doesn't seem to have many issues related to timing chains, so unless there are obvious signs of wear, or you're particularly nervous about it then it might be fine to leave it alone. Of course there are no certainties in this world, not the least of which are my opinions.

Thanks for that mate, I figured people were just used to the old timing belts hence regular replacement. Won't worry about it for now, cheers!
