Hey loveit, I haven't been on here in a while but I though I would let you know, my mate just bough a 2005 patrol with a zd30 and it sounds very similiar to our trucks. Must be a trait of the motor I would say.

I pulled up next to a patrol at a set of lights the other day and his bonnet was right next to my window and the "noise" was as clear as day.

Hey loveit, I have heard patrols with the same noise. I have also heard navaras that do not have the noise. Mine is fairly loud at full temp. Definitely can hear it with the bonnet down.

Hey loveit, My 3L D22 does exactly the same noise as yours. Quite on start up then gets tappy as it warms up. Have you found out what the issue is/was?
