    STX-550 radiator replacement

The manual suggests a different process for the V9x, the process above is for the YD. You can see why people don't get it right. Point 22 is interesting... Pretty much go through the whole process several times! 1. Install reservoir tank if removed, and radiator drain plug. CAUTION: Be sure to...

    STX-550 radiator replacement

Also there is a specific air bleeding process on this engine, not the same as the YD engine.

    STX-550 radiator replacement

A pressure cap on the radiator sounds like the root of the problem.

    Overfill bottle $750?

Expensive, but if you think about the fact that Nissan would have to commission production runs of minimum order size and then sit on parts for maybe years, you can see why they are expensive. Another option is to get a specialist fabrication company to make one from aluminium. Won't be cheap...

A rattle gun is the usual tool.

    Navara d40 radio

I believe that that connection is for an in vehicle telephone. (Remember those?) Never available in the Navara/pathfinder. Your best solution is to discard/recycle that unit and buy a generic double din head unit, they aren't that expensive.

    Stereo

I think it is fair to say that there are no aftermarket head units which will retain all of the OEM features such as 360° degree cameras, aircon display, fuel consumption data and the rest. Lots of canbus things going on! Some people have got most of the way there with a lot of messing around...

    V9X D40 Losing oil

From my experience the V9x, like most modern engines, can a fair amount of oil. Nothing like the extreme amounts that some of the German cars do, but having wider clearances does reduce friction and hence improves emissions.

    Auto box

It's normal for me too. The transmission change up and change down points are different when the engine is cold. Actually the V6 has both a transmission cooler in the radiator and a separate transmission cooler, of you count there are actually seven radiators behind the grille. On a separate...

YD25 fuel economy, head gasket...where to start?

Personally I would get just the head gasket done. No real benefit in getting the timing chains done at the same time as one job is the top of the engine and the other the front. They most common reasons for fuel consumption being poor are a dirty MAF or a leaky injector. There are specialists...

YD25 fuel economy, head gasket...where to start?

I'm always concerned when I hear about remaps. Most remapping companies just upload a generic remap they have bought. These generic maps simply push more fuel into the injectors. As they are not done on a rolling road, the end result is more power at the expense of economy. Not unexpectedly...

    Coolant colour

As a rule most manufacturers follow these colour schemes. So almost impossible to determine which coolant is in the system by its colour. IAT blue or green. HOAT orange, pink, turquoise blue or yellow OAT orange, red, yellow, purple, blue, pink, dark green Nissan blue is OAT by the way...

STX 550 power pause on throttle.

I would say mine does it sometimes, more noticeable once you have noticed it! I think you experiencing some turbo lag, most apparent in hot weather, and if you are driving slowly and the turbo has spooled down, it does take a while to spin up.

    Towing Capacity

A bit off topic, but some of those Australian off road caravans are super impressive. They bear little resemblance to those white plastic boxes on a tin foil chassis that you see in Europe.

    Coolant colour

True for a single brand, they will have a variety of colours indicating the specification of the coolant. If you select a different brand the colours will not necessarily be the same. In reality, mixing antifreeze, while not recommended, isn't a problem ( excluding dexcool which is whole...

    Engine info

In most countries Nissan offered a 5 year warranty on the YS23 powered D23, so not much out there the majority of vehicles are still under warranty. The engine is known as M9T in a number of vans and has been around a bit longer, you will find more information about that variant.

    Coolant colour

Coolant colour is just a dye. You just need the right spec, colour is unimportant.

Also not unknown for clock springs to be faulty, especially the cheap ones.
