Tell me about it.. Genuine oil cooler for the 3.0TDI was $1300, I ended up getting a Bilstein one shipped from overseas for $350 delivered.

Had this same issue with a VW TDI, the Oil cooler seals let go and started leaking coolant along with mixing oil into it. Doesn't go milky, just floats up and collects at the top of the radiator / overflow.

Slightly over the full mark is no issue, better to be slightly over than under! Depending on the K's and engine condition you'll more than likely burn that excess oil off in general driving :)

I'll level with you.. I'm getting a lot lazier these days and a while back I bought one of those 12v oil extraction pumps from ebay. I don't even bother getting under the car anymore or undoing the sump plug. For the sake of leaving 150ml of old oil in the Sump, the pump is absolutely worth it.

@Old.Tony - does the Navara use the old Brake / Tail globes combined? If so, it could just be the filament for the Tail light that's blown in the globe. @kms357 have you tried swapping the globes from 1 side to the other to see if the problem persists?

Take the fuse out and hold it up to some bright light. In the middle of the plastic fuse housing you'll see a piece of metal running from 1 leg to the other. if there is a little break in the middle / black spot / white spot etc then it's blown...

Tools can be expensive mate, There are certain ones you shouldn't really skimp on to be honest. A breaker bar? Supercheap Auto and the cheapest one will do the job for most home DIY! no need to splurge on that unless you're using it a fair bit.

a min 600mm breaker bar should be in everyones tool kit, especially with cars like ours getting up in years!

Follow the cable back, it has either disconnected somewhere or fallen apart from heat and age. Using a multimeter have you tested the line back to see if it has any power anywhere at all? Does the Navara have a relay for RH and LH high beams?
