    ugly centre console

They look excellent, just ordered a pair. Not that I really need it now, the wife/ passenger side does though.

    Cheap Tyres

I got a set of these tyres shortly after posting this for $150 each. In the standard 31" (was all they had at the time). Have since replaced them and would have used them again, but couldn't find stock anywhere (pandemic supply chain issues). Here's a review...

D22 ZD30 TD Crank no Start

I remember when these cars were still reasonably new this happening. In that instance he never did find what caused it, but ended up selling it on mechanics advice because he couldn't get over the possibility that it was the beginning of (electronics) problems with the fuel pump. Only happened...

D22 Had to Brake Hard to avoid accident (no time for clutch so stalled) and now doesn't go at all - H E L P please?

So YD25 then (2.5 litre diesel). Not that I have any idea of what is wrong with it, but there are a few different engines in the D22, all with their own characteristics and particular foibles. So it is helpful to specify.

Yep, old fella here for sure. That obvious is it? lol.

    ZD30 Vibration at low RPMs

I had an issue once where the nav (basically same model as yours) gained a really noticeable vibration at low revs. It was after I had been doing a bit of work on it and took it for a 4 wd trip for the day. Had me perplexed for a while, but I realised when I eventually started noticing oil leaks...

    Handbrake cable removal D22 Navara

Got me beat then. Only way I can see to get that off from the pic would be grind the head off the pin (as ridiculous as it sounds). They're must be something we're missing, Nissan design engineers aren't usually this bad. Hopefully someone on here has done one before and knows an easy (and not...

    No boost. Why ?

Know nothing about your particular model car, or that brand of turbo, but in general have seen cheap ebay turbos (<$300) that have lasted hundreds of thousands of km's with no problems, yet others that have worn out in less than 2k kms (huge amount of play with impeller hitting). Guessing the...

    Handbrake cable removal D22 Navara

Is there anything on the opposite side from this pic that you can undo, to take the retaining pin out? Had a look at the manual but the diagram only shows the same side.

    Does anyone know?

Are the other components ok ? Control arm bushes and so on? The splines not worn on the bars, or the where they fit (causing them to gradually move)? If they're all ok, perhaps the torsion bars have lost their tension altogether? No metallurgist, but they are just a lump of spring after all. I...

    D22 Lift/Rims/Tires Recommendations

ps. Notice that kit doesn't seem to have rear springs, but extended shackles? That's as rough as guts (IMO) and I wouldn't do it that way. I doubt that would be considered roadworthy anywhere in Aus for good reason (not sure where you're at though). You could get a really good solid 2" lift...

    D22 Lift/Rims/Tires Recommendations

Not sure where you're at, but a 3" suspension lift would be a no-no in many places (certainly in NSW). You'll probably need new UCA's to get that much lift also, which would need approval. A diff drop would be useful to reduce cv angle. 33' tyres are generally outside of the same regs and tyres...

What size battery for a D22.

I have a 120Ah rear battery as well, but the -ve from this battery bolts to a crossmember under the tray, works fine. Not trying to be contra for the sake of it here, but not sure I'm following you? I don't have dual crank batteries but I assume (always an iffy thing to do lol) they are in...

    Just arrived

Hi Deebs2003. 35mpg = 8.7 litres /100kms. Assuming imperial gallons (never got the metric system out your way? lol) I get anywhere from 9-11 litres/ 100kms in my old 3 litre diesel.

Looks like a bad CV joint.

Usually they lose the grease when the rubber boot splits, but yours looks ok (from what I can see)? If so there's a fair chance that would be your noise, they don't last long without grease.

    Adjusting belts

Guessing you have the 2.5 (which I know nothing of)? As there is no belt adjustment on the zd30 that I'm aware of (it's an automatic tensioner). Surely you can rig a socket/fittings/extensions or spanner on it in a way that extends leverage? Then again there are bolts on mine that I have had to...

    Selecting reverse while moving forward

Theoretically there's nothing stopping you from going to reverse from any of the forward gears afaik, apart from the fear lol. Practically, it's difficult though, thankfully. It will make lot's of horrible early warning noises alerting you of the mistake you are making. You can also go from...

Alternative 'Rival' bumper instead of bull bar... Opinons? Experiences?

There is a misconception (IMO) about needing a bull bar to go "off road" in Aus. Then again there can be great differences in what people consider "off road", but generally I haven't seen much that I would really consider "off road" conditions in outback/central Aus. Apart from a few sand areas...

    Terrymac ‘06 D22 3.0 STR single cab

Starts at page 36 in this link. 19-25 nm for the ones under front of the engine bay. 31-42 nm for the ones under the cab itself. A good idea to use plenty of thread locker also.

    ugly centre console

Not sure there's much you can do with it. It's not very practical, at least Toyota got that part right with mug holders everywhere. I gave up on it, made a mug holder and screwed it to the dash with self tappers. Yeah, that could be seen as rough lol. Works a treat though.
