    Noise from drivers footwell

Mine does a similar thing on gear changes. I think it's one of the 12 million different springs & linkages in the clutch pedal arrangement  It might be worth getting under there with a light & checking for anything loose. Keep an eye out for any cracks or flexing around the clutch...

    Fuel consumption off the chart

Are you recording each tank fill and ODO reading, & then calculating the actual consumption? The live dash number is just a gimmick. Approximately close to actual consumption....maybe.

    Cooling fan clutch

OK update... This last week I took the radiator out of the Nav & had it flushed & tested with the local Rad specialist. It passed with flying colours. Full flow from every tube. So I cleaned the air side & put it back in the ute. I replaced the thermostat with a new Tridon "high flow" unit. I...

    Cooling fan clutch

Just went googling & downloading... FSM says jiggle valve at the top.

    Cooling fan clutch

OK, I'm elbows deep in the cooling system today. Rad is out & down with the local guru for a flush/inspection/test. I just pulled the thermostat housing & this is how I found it. Does the orientation matter? I was of the understanding this would be incorrect/upside down?

    D40 front speakers

I think the front ones in D40 are 6x9", and rear is either 5" or 6" round.

    Kits

I am very happy with the Tough Dog kit in my D40. Foam Cell shocks & +45mm lift. Nothing too extreme. The ride quality, on & off, road is excellent. I reckon they would have kits or parts for a D22.

    Engine failure

That sucks mate. The bloody timing chain gets another one! (I hope Carlos Ghosn gets what he deserves one day) I'm in Launceston. If there's anything I can do to help gimme a shout. I've only heard & read good things about YD25.com.au. It's going to cost a fortune, but at least you'll get...

Look's like i'll be pulling the head.

A leak down test. There may even be factory numbers available for this. Many manufacturers of heavy/industrial diesels specify a leak down time. Honestly though, just my opinion, spending hours trying to diagnose a possible leaky valve on a high mileage engine of unknown condition, that already...

    intercooler yd 25 d40

Yep. If it's a high mileage engine that has never had a catch can, the cumulative oil vapour in the intake system can be significant. I've seen a V9X intercooler emptied into a bucket - looked like approx. half a litre of oil. And it's likely there will be significant carbon in the intake...

    Catch can

If You can add your own filter medium to an ebay can. Scotchbrite scouer pad or steel wool are some examples. Just needs lots of surface area to allow the oil to condense on.

    All aluminium radiators

Hey NewNav100 That rad looks bigger than the stock one? Was there any issues with shroud & fan clearance?

Does a booster seat HAVE to be installed on a seat?

The laws are not appropriate for my family. As soon as you meet my kids you're thinking, "they should ride in the tub or on the roof racks".

Look's like i'll be pulling the head.

Ah bugger. That's a shame mate. I dunno how much internal chaos you've got there....until you tear it open & check everything. I think it's safe to say it's not going to get better with a new fuel filter or some injector cleaner! No change to the wet test numbers would indicate your pistons...

    Master cylinder repco part# 2007 d40 spanish

I've been looking at this recently during my brake "upgrade". It's a bit of a mine field because there is actually about 4 different m/c from 2005 to 2015 depending on engine, build country, transmission etc etc. Check out Navarapart or Navlife for a better catalogue of the different m/c's...

    Catch can

Arguably, if you can only afford one, the catch can should be fitted first. But others may have a different (valid) opinion on that. As for trouble. How long is a piece of processed cotton? How many kms on the donk? How much blow-by does it already have? The catch can & the EGR are...

    Cooling fan clutch

OK good question.... Bear-in-mind the following observations are during a Tasmanian winter. Ambient temps are in the mid-teens at their warmest....but often high single digits. And ute is unladen. Just me (100kgs), and the fiberglass canopy. Tyres are 265/65/17. At idle it consistently sits at...

    Cooling fan clutch

Thanks mate. I ordered 2 tubes. At that price it's a no brainer to have on the shelf.

    V6 or np300

Also....if you're migrating from 3 x 550 V9X D40's, you're prolly going to find the NP300, or any other 4 cylinder TD ute, a little "weak" when loaded...??

    V6 or np300

When you say V6...do you mean the VQ petrol?.....or the V9X diesel? I haven't owned the NP300 series, so have no direct experience. But if I was shopping I'd be considering a few things.... - Nissan seems to have produced a "work in progress" with the NP300. There's a lot of revisions &...
