    Replacing the D40 - suggestions?

you can get a brand new cruiser ute for half that (which is still to much essentially for what it is), dunno what your on about comparing utes to luxury wagons... IMO the best thing to do (if he wants serious power) would be buy an older GU patrol (ZD30 variant) throw the motor in the bin and...

    Red dirt diesel chip

John that depends if the diesel is a CR type or direct injection, like on the ZD30 I believe they all work the same way by opening the spill valve longer irrespective of brand. its ultimately up to the end user to make up their mind, personally I wouldn't fit any chip without an EGT gauge and...

    Red dirt diesel chip

compared to a pressure chip they are, I spent months researching chips, read many horror stories about pressure chips and hardly anything bad about steinbauer. In the end though I decided a chip wasn't right for me, I don't like playing with things a mechanical engineer has spent a great deal...

    Tred recovery tracks

No leaving him bogged to the chassis on the beach was vindication enough for destroying a $300 pair of maxtrax lol. This was the first gen ones though which are known for having the knobs easily worn off them, the new ones are meant to be alot tougher but I just take slabs of wood with me now...

    What is this?

just leave it, it does nothing for performance by reopening the EGR, its just there so the car passes the pollution laws which means your intake gets filled with crud.

    Tred recovery tracks

Maxtrax all the way, another case of people being tight arses and saying an inferior product is just as good which it isn't (think Ironman vs ARB bullbars), maxtrax saved my first nav when I was being silly on the beach right on the low tide line, if I didn't have them I would have surely lost...

to the guys thinking it was overloaded, the forces involved are absolutely enormous, even at like 40km/h that van behind the car has a huge amount of kinetic energy which has to go somewhere on deceleration. In this case it was expended bending the cars chassis since like I said there would have...

Insurance is going to love that if it is indeed over, technically its unroadworthy in which case insurance is basically void.
