I get around 950 to 1200km out of a tank depending on where I'm driving.....but then again I have a 160ltr tank :rofl2:

What Aussie says....it seems to happen to many D40 and Pathfinders. It happened to my D40 and it was a quick fix by the Nissan guys during a service.....done under warranty.

I think they are talking about the spacers that I have fitted Paul....mine are Snake Racing made and have been machined down from 35 to around 30 mm.

Got the recall notice to replace my alloy wheels this week....now just have to find the time to get it into the dealer to get the changeover done.

Does this apply to all D40 2.5 models or just that later versions..??

Really? I've been with NRMA for a shade under 40 years and have found them to be excellent....even when my notsocareful son bingled two of the family cars in a matter of weeks.

I've done a couple of mods to improve the off-roadability of my D40 and have to say that it is pretty damn good. The only real shortcoming relative to other dual cabs is that is has a looooooooooooooong wheel base and this compromises ramp-over somewhat. You do become much better at picking...

Tony - can you point me to a website re the front locker....I have an ARB air locker in the rear but didn't know that someone had finally produced a locker for the front. Also have you heard any reports on how the front diffs are standing up to being locked. I understand that the main reason...

I had a similar problem from new....@ approx 80kph and under load ie going up hill etc I'd get the vibrations. The torque converter was change at 1500km...no questions asked.

I'm thinking if it leaks then it is a problem with the fitting and not the canopy. I've got an ARB canopy and it has been on the ute for >3 years now. Travelled in all kinds of weather including the tropics in the wet....still no water ingress at all. Frankly if I was doing this all over...

I have and Opposite Lock 160ltr replacement tank in my D40. No complaints really but as it uses the OEM sender unit it is about 400km before the gauge moves off full. Not a problem for me as I monitor the litres remain via Scangauge.

Yeah OK there may be a problem with Bunnings SS but has someone on this forum who has fitted the Chipit blanking plate had a look recently. Not much point in me doing it as I've only had it in place for a coupla thousand kays.

Michael - the 5K service is a bit of a crock really. I was doing that until and thought this just doesn't sound right for a 2008 CDRI car and wrote to Mr Nissan Australia. You will not loose warranty if you carry out services at 10K intervals. That schedule in the handbook is somewhat generic...
