you should have found a dealer that salesman know what they are selling,even my mrs can see the differences side by side,and reading the specs.

have you got a 8 mm allen key, undo the filler and check how far down it is, a little oil spreads a log way. it may have only lost 100ml

there is a sticker in the left front door opening with proportion valve arm setting lenght. they dont stay with a full pedal, you have to keep adjusting manually.

Has anyone seen the stick on chrome plastic covers you can get on evil bay for inferior quality vehicle than the D40 ? There are some early non gen mirrors for 129 + frt. I had 2 replaced under warranty and now another,left side. not from trees,stone chips etc. just start bubbling then plastic...

dealerships have been know to use normal atf, as i found out the hard way,and have the invoice to prove it. there are a few oil companys with j fluid now and a lot better price than nissan

im fairly sure it works,had it on for a few weeks driving in mud a fair bit,checked and ok. a a mate was going up north and i put it on his, it all ok, i drove through 20 km of mud on saturday and mines now leaking again :sad:

very common inbuilt fault. after seal number 5 and speedi sleeve number 2 on the flange i made up a small plate off the crossmember to about 5 inches past the uni 6 inches wide. seems to do the trick at keeping most crap out of it.

the auto will kick back from overdrive on slight hills towing,even to 3rd .it can be a pain when you are put out of the max torque range. they come standard with a large trans cooler,never had a problem with mine .the auto in the st is the same as earlier stx,not the current one.

the stx and new V6 should still be made in spain, so dont be a tight ass and buy up spec :big_smile:

can you post some photos of the fan, how old and many km has yours done ?

oh yeh, i finally got that new bonnet and catch last week,and that lovely strap lives in the back,the old one lasted 4 years and over 180,000 so i have faith in this one doing the same

when i was an apprentice working on to tt nah cant say it here,a wise old mechanic once told me "they are all crap, its just the price and quality that varies"

tony, with the hr bar, can you use a 2 tonne D shackle (13mm shaft) or are they smaller like the nissan bar ?

once any belt sqeals the only real fix is replacement. mine is over 180,000 on originals and about to be replaced because of cracking,not major but will do anyway

good write up bosshog, with the O2 sensor,if there is a slight build up of soot or anyhting on them soak the end in vinegar overnight to clean it and use the spacer, have seen one improve with it. lucky mine doesnt have it.

120 was so long ago:big_smile: up to 180 and belts just starting to signs of small cracks,timing chain not noisy,the front comes off to replace the chain and tensioners. has anyone had a chain fail - not told about it actually happen to you. ?
