Did you reset the fuel learning value when you changed the fuel filter (The pedal reset of ECU)? If you haven't it's likely the fuel pump could be pumping a little to much fuel into the engine.

Krafty that's not a picture of a DPF. That's the end of the CAT and flexi joint. The DPF is under the passengers foot well. It looks like a round barrel muffler with tubes and wires coming out of it. It starts just after the pictured flexi joint and finishes just after the 90 degree bend.

There is the 2x pressure sensors, the 2x temp sensors and 1x O2 sensor in the DPF. Your manual may not show it if like mine it's for the early euro 3 models that didn't have a DPF. As auggie said you may not see much improvement in your ute. When I removed the DPF from my old one I didn't...

I'll put money on it that it's the fuel tank vacuum/pressure relief valve. (Built into the fuel cap) As the fuel changes temp the valve opens to equalize the pressure in the tank to stop it exploding or collapsing in on itself.

Not sure what it's called but I'm pretty sure it bolts onto the engine just below the fuel rail. The 90° bends go to the bottom facing towards the engine. One hose goes from the vacuum pump to the boost control solenoid and the other goes to the intake pipe.

Your right the new (well 450's at least) don't have the valve and brake heaps better and the pedal feels so much better too.

Have you done the self diaginostic test for the fan?

The 450's have the same grill as the 550's too
