    High Km YD25 D40s

I'm hoping my current one is as good as the old one too and so far being 26 months old and having 142,000km it's looking good so far. (touch wood)

    High Km YD25 D40s

Before the young fella that brought my old 07 D40 off me wrote it off it had 282,000km's on it, still original timing chain too. (only thing replaced engine wise was SCV and normal services).

    d40 boost problem.

I would start with a ecu reset if you don't have any boost leaks and then work from there if it doesn't help. You haven't left a rag or something in the pipe that could be blocking the air flow?

Electric Throttle Control Actuator P1121 Petrol

Do you have a copy of the workshop manual? If not there appears that your P1121 code has three posible faults which I have posted below. A) Electric throttle control actuator does not function properly due to the return spring malfunction. Electric throttle control actuator B) Throttle valve...

Not fog lights. Fog lights are down below in the bumper.

    overly concerned

Remove glow plug only if necessary. If carbon adheres, it may be stuck and broken or may break off in the head. When removing or installing, do not use such tools as an air impact wrench. Handle it carefully without giving any impact, even after removal. [As a guide, if it drops from height of...

    overly concerned

I'm guessing seen you had a DPF that your ute is a preface lift one so the by memory the glow plugs are situated on the right hand side of the engine (when your standing in front of it) just above the exhaust manifold. there is one plug for each cylinder joined together by a metal bracket that...

    overly concerned

Another option to look at if it's only happening on cold mornings after start up is is one of your glow plugs might be playing up. White smoke is a sign of unburnt diesel and if the glow plug doesn't heat up correctly then the diesel in that cylinder wont burn properly until you get it little...

Weird Vibration Auto D40 Diesel 80-100km

Good to here you've had a bit of a win and thanks for letting us know. What made you think to check the engine mounts?

    2008 D40 auto problem

Ok going off this I would say it would relate to error code #1 which is Revolution sensor (Vehicle speed sensor in the auto). Sorry to say but if it is this sensor then it involves removing the sump off the transmission to get to it and the easiest way of diagnosing is to go for a drive with a...

What is this and where do I get a new one?

I think you'll find that is where the factory roof rails (like the European and some 550's have) bolt in.

    New 2015 Navara

I think I can see one problem for the guy's that like going hard off-road. The intercooler has been moved down below the top of the bumper. I wonder why? And in one of the You tube video's that showed under the bonnet shows they have swapped the air cleaner and battery around and it looked...

Is this the right wire to cut on my alternator?

The white plug on the back of the negative battery terminal pole does the job. Unplug it and you'll then get a constant 14.1 volts all day, every day plus you can plug it back in if required.

Injector Cutoff - Do D40 injectors turn off on deceleration?

Old Tony is right. On my 2012 140kw model if I put the stereo into diagnostic mode even that shows the correct speed to match GPS and Torque App but not the speedo.

    D40 Electronic Boost Controller

VNT turbo's don't use waste gates. the vanes move in and out to adjust the boost. The hose required to change the boost is on the right hand side of the intercooler (left hand side when looking from the front) in the exit pipe just before the pipe disappears past the radiator. This is where ECU...

    US Muscle cars

Sorry can't answer your question regarding the tail light/indicator combo as over here in NZ it's perfectly fine, even truckies running high spec american rigs run red indicators on the back just like the States over here. Anyway here's a picture of my toy. 1964 Ford Galaxy XL500 pillarless.

    Gas jet mod

My 140kw (electrical controlled turbo) D40 has done 105,000km in 19 months with the EGR blocked and I have never had a problem or seen a code.

    Gas jet mod

The 2.5's do not need a hole. My 2012 has now done 104,000km with the EGR blanked off and have not once seen a fault. The 3.0 V6 on the other hand is the one I believe needs a small hole.
