Z24 and KA24 engines have identical bolt patterns, as do the TD27 and QD32. Older manual gearboxes (71C) aren't particularly strong, and prob not the best match for later engines. Which engine do you have, and are you thinking auto or manual?

How is your oil level? Does it increase? This can become a serious problem if there is a diesel leak into the cylinder. If it gets worse, you can get to a stage where the engine takes off by itself. potentially doing damage. The only way to stop it then is choke the airsupply at the snorkel or...

Might not matter now, but on my TD27, that attaches into the block below the turbo. From another of your pictures, you've got a plug in that position I can see, a bronzey coloured thing with a deep hex head. On holidays at the moment, so I can't go and check and see what it's connected to.
