What gearbox is in the ute? If its the older 71c 5spd manual, it will likely get shredded by the V6 in short order.

I don't really understand why you had to get it weighed. Does it have a commercial registration, perhaps?

Thanks Zed, Any details you could add would be sweet. Mine's just done over 300k now, and doubt it's ever had the brakes done so thoroughly.

You could try looking at this site http://www.courtesyparts.com It's an American site, but you should be able to get parts numbers and compare between the Navara (Hardbody in the US) and the Pathfinder. There may be some differences between US and Australian stock, but it'd be a start.

Taz, these manual gearboxes are really not the best, and this one will be getting a bit long in the tooth. Probably a good chance that if one gear or item is worn, there'll be more damage in there. Might be time to think about getting it refurbed.

Or in case you put an auto in at some stage??? I wouldn't worry about the Power Steering cooling. Just adding in extra complexity to a system that in all liklihood works fine as is.

Well, my exhaust was cut in the middle with a sleeve of some thought. I assumed that was normal! I can understand having difficulty getting the whole length out. Best of luck with it.

Where does it separate? I remember taking exhaust manifolds and the first part of the exhaust out through the engine bay. I have heard that 2cm thing, but had forgotten it. Should think you could still get it to match up someway, even if you've got to bodge it.

Radiator from a petrol engine navara won't work, and probably not one from an SD diesel engine either. Got to do with where the hoses go. Don't know if a QD32 radiator will work. Probably stuck with a TD27 radiator. Perhaps one from a pathfinder will work as well? TBH, I wouldn't muck...

Hi Taz, and welcome along. You should be able to get the exhaust in and out without removing the driveshaft and so on, but yes, it's a pain in the backside. To the best of my knowledge, there is no difference in size between the Z20, Z22 and Z24, but to be honest, I hadn't heard of a Z22 until...

Good second hand gearboxes are pretty rare, maybe get a quote to have the box rebuilt first. If you do go down the second hand box, note that the diesel petrol engines have different bell housing patterns, and so won't interchange easily (and the 3L V6 is different to the 2.4L petrol engine too)
