Awesome effort of salvaging all of the extras that were NOT in the contract (insurance or lease). Getting another D40 has instant appeal then with those extras ready to bolt on.

Get a custom made jobbie from one of the vgood Radiator works in Perth. With steel end caps rather than plastic.

It's up to you Mitch, But if you are at all concerned about the oil change, just do it yourself. OR ask a favour of a mate or forumite to get it done before you drive Sth to Melb area. Cheap insurance and not worth the SHYTE if anything happens while you are on the road Sth... :-) Where abouts...
